No, setting up an account with Midwest Heritage is an added benefit as an employee of Hy-Vee. You are not required to set up an account in order to get paid.

Opening an account is quick and easy. You can apply directly through Workday by following these simple steps:

  • Log into Workday while on the company network.
    • If you are a new hire, navigate to your onboarding tasks and find the optional task for setting up your account.
    • If you are an existing employee, search "Open Midwest Heritage Account" in the bar at the top of Workday.
  • Fill out your details to open your account and enjoy your new banking perks!
  • Type "Payment Elections" into the search bar to set up or change your direct deposit.

Remember: Your Account Number and the Routing Number will display in Workday as a task directly after setting up your account. Please make note of this for the future.

Once your account is opened, a Workday task will be assigned to you with your Account number and the Routing number. If you cannot find this in Workday, and need the numbers to set up Direct Deposit or Online Banking, please call Midwest Heritage at 800-782-0521.

  1. Set up Direct Deposit
    • Direct deposit is not set up automatically. Log into Workday and search "Payment Elections" in the bar at the top. Then, enter your Midwest Heritage Routing and Account numbers.
  2. Enroll in Online & Mobile Banking
    • Set up your online account then download our app (Apple Store, Google Play). Manage your account, view transactions, transfer funds, and set up card controls with ease. For more information, click here.
  3. Turn on Text Alerts
    • Enable text alerts online or in the app so you know when your direct deposit has posted in your account and monitor account activity.
  4. Explore Other Services
    • Check out our savings, lending, insurance, and investment options. Please note, that you cannot set these up in Workday like the checking account. Reach out today and our team is ready to help!

No, direct deposit is not automatic and you must set up or update your direct deposit through Workday. In the search bar at the top, search "Payment Elections", then enter your new Midwest Heritage account details.

If you opened an account but have not yet funded it, you can:

  • Transfer funds from another bank

No, if you have set a checking account through Workday with Midwest Heritage, you are not required to set up any additional products or services. Choose only what fits your needs.

Please note that you must be on the Hy-Vee server in order to make any adjustments or changes to your Midwest Heritage account.
